Climate-friendly logistics

Many companies manufacture in urban or rural areas with limited access to factory space. When the company expands, new factory sites have to be built in distance to the existing infrastructure. This sets new challenges for logistics and production, which also effect the environment and the climate.

Reducing Transport Emissions via Local Collaboration

Our solutions enables companies to collaborate on transporting goods in dense industrial areas to reduce emissions as well as costs

Solution context

The challenge owner currently has two manufacturing plants that are only 1.5 km away from each other and require many goods and people to be transportet between the two every day. Delivering in time means that sometimes trucks go without being fully loaded which creates inefficiencies and unwanted transport emissions.

Solution description

Our solution is a software that enables companies in dense industrial areas to connect to share their unused capacities. This can easily be rolled out in additional areas as there are thousands of similar cases in Germany and beyond. Furthermore, closer collaboration on transport could lower the risk of transitioning to lower-emissions vehicles, such as electric of fuel cell trucks. The software could be financed by a subscription model for the participating firms. The cost savings and image improvement through lowering emissions and increasing efficiency will more than make up for the subscription fee.
