Lausanne
What offers and tourism projects could develop the Slow Destination positioning of the Morges region ?
Per saperne di piùContext:
We face a lack of imagination and understanding of what could be the future. While some talk about collapse (collapsology), others are convinced that we will live more than 150 years, in a hyper-technological world. We talk about environmental issues, but we do not analyze what their implications will be on our day-to-day lives, our culture, our social interactions, our way of moving and working.
However, being able to project is absolutely crucial on the one hand to prepare for it, but also to guide the political, societal and economic decisions we make today. When we have to vote on an initiative, make a personal investment, accept or reject a wind farm, a new infrastructure, we analyze the consequences based on the present, or on a future that we imagine using our current limited knowledge.
For the first time, Climathon Lausanne proposes a challenge based on the methodology of design fiction: Instead of creating concrete solutions, participants will imagine the future and the ecological transition. Inspired by science fiction works and with the support of Maison d'Ailleurs, participants will create a story based on the theme of the city of the future.
Expected results (from participants):
How will we live if the snow does not fall below 2,000 meters? What do repeated heat waves mean in our daily lives? How will we adapt if we live 150 years? How will we move tomorrow? What impact will electrification have? And if the autonomous car becomes widespread or blackouts are more and more common? What does it imply, be it in terms of opportunities, progress, increased well-being or challenges and disasters to manage?
Climathon participants are invited to imagine the life of a citizen in Lausanne in 2050, reflecting:
Starting from the life of a citizen, participants will give a certain vision of life in Lausanne and the Canton of Vaud. Participants are free to present the result of their vision according to the media/support that will appear most suitable (video, comic strip, news, article of press, etc.).
A 24-hour hackathon to build a sustainable vision, solve climate challenges and find innovative solutions.
