A hackathon is any event of any duration where people come together to creatively solve problems. Though hackathons are often associated with digital problem solving, the solutions developed during Climathon Zürich do not have to include digital technology.

No. However, participant applications will be screened to ensure the Climathon Zürich community is made up of motivated and creative individuals and team.

The Climathon will kickoff on the morning Friday October 25th and conclude Saturday afternoon with final presentations, awards, and an aéero.

Yes! Food and drinks will be provided throughout the 24 hour Climathon and the welcoming and closing ceremonies.

There will be some areas where you will be able to nap for a few hours. Of course, you are free to go home if you would like to sleep in the comfort of your own bed.

Bring anything that you think you will need to work. For example, you probably want to bring you phone, laptop, necessary chargers, and some headphones. If you plan on spending the entire 24 hours at Kraftwerk, don't forget to bring some toiletries and extra clothes.

You can also bring along a pillow and a sleeping bag for napping.

Climathon Zürich will provide brainstorm and ideation materials, including flip charts, pens, markers, post-its, and more!

People can form teams beforehand or find new teams at the beginning of the Climathon. The ideal team size will be between 3 - 6 people.
