Challenge: Recycling of garbage

Challenge

Separation of garbage is a challenge in many schools in Germany. The county of Bodensee with the department on disposal of waste used this as an anchor and asked students for solutions, which could help to implement concepts at the school to separate garbage and thus help to reuse some of the waste and hinder harmful side-effects.

Solution

It was interesting to see that three teams teamed up right after the pitch-day to plan the next steps of a recycling system at the school. The teams will focus together on behavioral change elements in terms of trainings and public speeches provided to teachers, students and the school. On the other hand, they want to provide new designs for recycling bins to separate garbage more effectively.
