We get tons of plastic wastes accumulated every year and the annual beach cleanups and shramadana events hosted by volunteer groups and other enthusiasts has never been enough to eradicate them completely from the ecosystem. At this stage, a sustainable solution is required

Challenge description

Waste management occurs at an utmost perfection in Batticaloa district by the relevant authorities. However, plastic residues accumulated every second has not been reduced since it has not received a proper replacement or a proper recycling or digestive mechanism to take them away from the ecosystem to where they were born. Therefore, proper mechanisms or strategies to reduce, reuse, recycle or replace plastics has to be in place to overcome this never ending battle with plastics.

Challenge vision

Ultimate goal of this challenge is to find a sustainable solution to get rid of plastic residues from the ecosystem and to propose a proper mechanism to reuse, recycle or reduce plastics by replacing them with biodegradable materials.
