Challenges

Wolkersdorf: Amsterdam goes Weinviertel

How can we make our streets and walks more attractive for pedestrians and bike rides?

Walking, biking: Let's create incentives to walk and bike for distances less than 5km. Will we be able to use the existing road network, to ensure accessibility and not to seal new surfaces?

Challenge description

Big cities like Amsterdam and Copenhagen are showing it: private transport includes footpaths and cycle paths as well. City planning does not have to be drafted primarly around cars. But in rural areas we like to use the car to get a quick ride to the supermarket, to the doctor, to professional and private appointments. It's safe, it's fast and, yes, it's still cool. Let's create incentives to promote walking and riding bicycles for short distances (under 5km).

Challenge vision

Let's promote the benefits of going for a walk and run errands by bicycle.

Let's hack Wolkersdorf into an even greener future!

Be part of the Climathon Wolkersdorf on Oct. 25th! We start at 17:00. In 24 hours, you will be able to work with like-minded people in small groups to solve the challenges around mobility, energy consumption and water management.
