The city was originally created as a trade and strategic military outpost, formerly the railways were enough to move the traded goods and the army has special vehicles that can run over any terrain, however, the city has grown into a touristic and educational destination that demands a better organized, connected, varied, and modernize transport infrastructure. The essential problem resides in the lack of urban planning with very few stretching roads, lots of dead ends and one of the highest car ownership per capita in the world.
