Challenge description

Hyderabad is now experiencing abnormalities in the pre-monsoon season, extremely high temperatures recording for prolonged periods without any break, advancement summer season, increasing humidity levels, rise in temperatures and fluctuations, dust storms, unseasonal heavy rains and hailstorms, heatwaves and increasing duration of the warm season etc.

Hyderabad have inadequate and old infrastructure, erratic water and power supply, dead & degraded water bodies, high vehicular traffic and land. Air & water pollution.

Hyderabad can be developed as climate resilient city, by developing its capability to reduce and manage negative impacts of climate change, prepare climate resilience plan by understanding the present and future vulnerability of the city, utilizing climate information to identify the typical climate stressors, by proper housing and urban planning, by improving urban infrastructure and services.

How to improve preparedness towards the climate change impacts- practices and behaviours

Role of Government

Public- private partnership for climate resilience

Green infrastructure and financing

Strategies that need to be considered while developing city resilience strategies
